May 9th - 13th 2012

Easter Seals Camp, Squamish, BC, Canada

This conference/gathering brings together a worldwide Shamanic Community, of various Clans, Tribes, Traditions and Families of other countries to come together in Community, in accordance to the Wolven Path Tradition; we call to everyone to join the Gathering and celebrate the Earth, the Stars, the Spirits and the magic of each other. It is in this Community we come to share our wisdom, our experience, our spirit, our blessings, and our healing.

The focus of this conference was directed by the spirits and will call to and for an awareness of the Bones of all the Ancestors.

It seems auspicious that in 2012 we are called by the Ancestors to gather with this intent. Our modern societies of need, greed, possession, speed, superficiality has left behind our deepest spiritual roots. In this we have neglected the Ancestors by whose blood and breath we are here. We pay lip service to the honouring of our dead and we selfishly ignore those to be born. We disinter the bones of the earth with mining and our desire for crystals and fuel; we move through the earth deforesting, bringing animals to extinction and desecrating the ancients sacred sites; we fill our museums with the ancestral dead, without ceremony or honour.

Our dead wander unrequited by clinical and cursory funerary rites; dismissed from partaking in the journey that we selfishly guard and control.

We have forgotten that we are the transient pathway between the Ancestors and the Descendants; that we ourselves are in the same breath both Ancestor and Descendant. By neglecting and dismissing our dead, we dishonour ourselves and staunch the flow of the two rivers, blood and breath that could, should maybe not, dream the Descendants into being. We have been remiss in celebrating the Ancestors that sing to and call us to sing to the ones to come.

This is the prophecy of 2012 to which we should pay heed

Under this Ancestral Ordinand we are called to gather at this conference and to honour, celebrate, appreciate and relate to our Ancestors of all the children of the Earth.

This Conference is a ceremonial gathering; One Large Ceremony, in which each part, presentation, workshop and participant is called to be a prayerful ritual that sanctifies the ceremony.

This flow of grace will be from the Opening Ceremony where bone bundles will be created and honoured every morning, followed by the creation and honouring of the Bone Mother and the community succour to Her and the Ancestors. Each morning will provide the base and grounding for the afternoon ritual journeys/presentations that will all have a bearing on the mornings work.

The mornings will be led by Tom Cowan, Christina Pratt and John-Luke Edwards; held together by the music of Jeff Stockton.

Each Evening Ceremony will gather the whole day & the Community and offer it and them, forward to the Ancestors.

This will culminate in the Gathering of all the ‘forward offerings’ in a final afternoon ceremony on the last day around the Bone Mother and First Ancestor, lead by Tom Cowan, Christina Pratt, Elsa & Howard Malpas, Jeff Stockton & John-Luke Edwards, in a releasing the Ancestral duties and opening the way for the Descendants, culminating in the creation of a permanent Peace Cairn into which every participant will make a commitment into.

In this way this Conference and Gathering is to a be a focussed event of powerful healing through consolation, and redemption in the relationship between  ourselves and the Ancestors which will ripple out as a common act for all our relations and kin and for the communities we come from and return to.

This gathering will be a sacred, colourful and moving weave of ceremonies, rituals, teachings, workshops and presentations brought together into this ceremonial matrix. The Ancestors and Descendants will be with us, walking, talking, singing and dancing in an intimacy we have forgotten or neglected.

It is also our Intention for this Gathering consciousness of forgiveness & surrender as part of our commitment to global harmony and the deepening equal relationship between all the children of the Earth and the Spirits. Such is a committed prayer in Spirit to the survival of our planet.

The 33-acre site features endless grass fields and forested nature trails. The site has two large lounges, that can hold up 30 people each, a large room used as an Arts/Crafts facility which could hold up to 50 people, an outdoor Pavilion with central Fire which can hold up to 100 people and extensive grounds for outdoor work and there will also be a Marquee for 100 people. There is also an outdoor fire pit with a semicircular amphitheatre and large grassed spaces for outdoor ceremonies and presentations.

This Conference is prescribed by direct spirit intervention and will be a full conference of morning meditations, morning focus plenaries on the Ancestral journeys with afternoon choices of workshops, teachings, healings and ceremonies. Each day will culminate in an Evening Ceremony for the whole gathering.

There will be Shaman market, healing ceremonies and quiet time, plus the opportunity to attend pre-conference workshops and the Initiation Ceremony of new Shaman to the Wolven Path Tradition & Lineage.

The conference will be a full 5 days, and have more, shorter workshops, with the choice of adding a 6th pre-conference day.

It is our principle to try and make the Conference & Gathering as accessible to as many as possible. By having the Conference planned early we can allow registrants to pay for the event in instalments or deferred payments should they wish.

We are honoured and blessed by all the wisdom and prayers that our teachers will bring to us in this ceremonial gathering:

He has studied with and taught for the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. He is the author of several books on shamanism and Celtic spirituality. He is also a minister in the Circle of the Sacred Earth and on the Board of Directors of the Society for Shamanic Practitioners and a member of the SCGMSS. He will also present 3 Morning Meditations: ‘The Many Coloured Winds of Morning’. The light of early morning is alive with possibility, carried on the winds from every corner of the earth; a weaving of harpsong and silence, nourished by the winds to and from the four corners of the Garden. He is also supporting Howard & Elsa Malpas in ‘The First Shaman’.
His studies and training in the shamanic realm began in 1996 on the strings of the Celtic harp, and inform and nourish his work in the wider world.  In addition to his work in the Shamanic realm, Jeff weaves song and story on the strings of the harp in performance and recorded works.

Every time we pick up our drums to play we will know we are holding the bones of the ancestors. Sharon was raised in Canmore, Alberta (after being born in Calgary) and spent her childhood in the Rocky Mountains, loving the rocks and stones and natural environment.  Since 1988 she has lived in Nanaimo, BC, Vancouver Island near the shore of the Salish Sea (Strait of Georgia) enjoying the energy of the great ocean.
